The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd. ), and the All Progressives Congress national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are meeting behind closed doors in the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.
The former Governor of Lagos State was not accompanied by any senior APC official.
Tinubu’s visit comes only days after Buhari warned APC members that if they do not settle their disagreements, they will lose the 2023 general elections to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Details of the ongoing discussion between President Buhari and Tinubu have not been made public at this time, with several sources speculating that it is about the 2023 elections.
Tinubu, as a founding member of the party, has been tipped to succeed President Buhari when his term expires in May 2023, gaining support from many political and sociocultural groups.
