ATM Records N39.15 Trillion Transaction in fourth quarter of 2018

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has said Automated Teller Machine from selected banks across the country recorded transactions valued at thirty-nine-point-one-five trillion naira in the fourth quarter of 2018.

The bureau in its report today said that the amount was derived from six hundred and sixteen million, five hundred and twenty-eight thousand transactions recorded as data on “Electronic Payment Channels in the Nigeria Banking Sector” during the period.

The bureau added that NIBSS Instant Payments transactions dominated the volume of transactions recorded in the quarter.

According to the report, two hundred and twenty-eight million, two hundred and nine thousand NIP transactions valued at twenty-three-point-five-seven trillion naira were recorded in the quarter under review.
