ASUU suspends strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has announced the suspension of its strike action.

The ASUU President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi, announced this in Abuja late on Monday.

The union said it was suspending the strike till end of October for the Federal Government to fulfill its promises.

The union directed university lecturers to immediately resume duty.

The strike was called off after a memorandum of understanding was signed with the federal government delegation led by the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige at a meeting.
