Following the ongoing industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, A final year student of Forestry at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Abia state, Oluomachi Nwoye has given birth to a set of five babies at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia.
According to the Oluomachi’s mother, Priscilla Nwojo, the quintuplets comprising two boys and three girls were born at 9:15 pm on Monday.
Priscilla, however, expressed delight with the gift of the quintuplets, noting that such uncommon blessing usually comes with its peculiar challenges.
She appealed to Government and public-spirited individuals to come to the aid of the family, saying that ” it’s not easy to take care of one (baby), how many more five persons under the present situation of Nigeria.
It was gathered that the father of the quintuplets from Umunnya in Anambra State did not show up at the hospital. Reason for that, however, was not yet clear as at the time of filing this report.
