In Kwara state ,as students in Kwara state join their counterpart across Africa in the commencement of West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations today , the Kwara state government says an arrangement has been made for the exiting students of Oyun Baptist Secondary School to write their WAEC in another centre.
It is recalled that the Kwara State government shut down Oyun Baptist Secondary School, Ijagbo in Oyun Local Government Area of the state, following the violence that erupted in the school over the controversial hijab dress code.
In a chat with Royal FM , the chief press secretary to the kwara state Governor , Rafiu Ajakaye said the Oyun Baptist Secondary remains shut for now until government gets both sides to commit to peace which he said remains paramount affirming that peace must be ensured before reopening of the school.
Rafiu Ajakaye also informed that government has made plans for the exit students to write their examination elsewhere.
In the meantime, presidents of kwara baptist conference , Reverend Victor Dada has called for reopening of the school. He urged the government to as a matter of urgency open the school.
