Arrest, prosecute Tinubu now – Lagos PDP tells CCT

Lagos chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to immediately arrest and prosecute former National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.Taofik-Gani

This follows recent revelation at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), that the former governor was discharged in error during his trial five years ago, for allegedly operating foreign accounts while serving as governor.

Senate president, Bukola Saraki’s counsel, Kanu Agabi, has recently urged the tribunal to discharge his client since Tinubu who was accused of a similar allegation was set free.

Agabi gave the prayer after the prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs stated that Tinubu was wrongly discharged and that the tribunal was misled in freeing the ex-governor.

PDP state publicity secretary, Taofik Gani, in a terse statement “demand the immediate invitation, arrest and prosecution of Tinubu for violating the laws of the land and breaching public trust by operating several foreign accounts during his tenure as Lagos State governor between 1999 and 2007.”

PDP said any one found to have abused his or her office despite laid down rules must be made to face the full wrath of the law.

It added that Tinubu’s position as leader of the ruling party should not deter the CCT from doing what is right.
