The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Right Reverend Doctor Humphrey Bamisebi Olumakaiye, is to honour Engineer Gbenga Adebayo with an Episcopal Award for Excellence in Service.
The ceremony is to hold on the sideline of the third session of the 34th Synod of the Diocese of Lagos holding from Sunday, May 02, to Thursday, May 06, 2021.
The Diocese of Lagos, Anglican Communion disclosed this in a letter signed by the Synod Secretary, Venerable Segun Ladeinde on behalf of the Bishop and addressed to Adebayo.
It said the award is to honour Engr Gbenga Adebayo for “services rendered to the Lord and humanity through the church both recently and in the past.”
The award ceremony is to hold precisely on Wednesday, May 05, 2021, at the Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Reacting in a brief statement signed by Taiwo Adediran, the Editor, Royal Times of Nigeria, Adebayo expressed delight at the honour, describing it as “priceless.”
The awardee said he is “highly humbled” and thanks His “Lordship, the Bishop of Lagos, for counting him worthy of the Episcopal Award.
Engr. Adebayo added that, “this has only renewed and reinvigorated my devotion to the service of God and Humanity till the end of time.”
