The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared as authentic, the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) of its Governor-Elect for Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The party made this declaration in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, on Thursday in Abuja.
The party maintained that the allegation that Abdulrazaq has a fake certificate was laughable.
In the statement, the party stated that those spreading the rumour were wasting their resources.
It was alleged that Abdulrazaq forged the certificate he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the state’s governorship polls.
The party, however, claimed that the allegation was politically motivated.
“We understand the desperation of the sponsors of this campaign of calumny to get power through the back door after the crushing defeat they suffered from Kwara electorate in the last general elections.
“While it is the right of the rejected opposition and their proxies to approach the election tribunal relying on their flimsy and false claims, we assure Kwarans that it is an exercise in futility, the party stated.
The party declared that the allegation would be in vain.
The party stressed that the APC was confident in the governor-elect of Kwara, confirming that all documents he presented to INEC for the election were authentic.
The party admonished the APC members in Kwara not to have any doubt about the governor-elect but to get ready for the task of setting the state on a path to progress under Abdulrazaq.
