Akeredolu Denies sacking six hundred Local government workers

The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu has denied sacking any worker of the local governments in the state. It was earlier gathered that the state government has sacked about six hundred members of staff of the local government who work at the palaces of the traditional rulers across the state by allegedly removing their names from the payroll of the local governments.

However, in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Segun Ajiboye today, Akeredolu explained that the six hundred workers were adhoc staff integrated into local government service and made full members of staff.

He added that the removal of their name from the remittal does not in any way affect the payment of their salaries nor their status as workers on their respective places of assignment.

The governor said the government’s decision was informed by the need to make the workers more dedicated to their duties. He appealed to workers in the state not to exercise any fear about their job, reiterating that his administration will not sack any worker.
