The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has rejected the results of the rerun election even before the official announcement. The candidate announced the rejection of the poll results in a statement issued on his behalf by the spokesperson for the Adeleke Campaign Organisation, Mr Olawale Rasheed.
The PDP candidate vowed to seek legal redress in court, saying the exercise was brazenly rigged. Adeleke said the PDP supporters were harassed, intimidated and prevented from voting in some of the units while describing the exercise as a sham.
Meanwhile, the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been declared winner of Polling Unit 012 in Olode Ward of Ife South Local Government Area. According to the result declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission officials, the APC scooped 283 votes while the PDP, which came second, had 15 votes.
The results from Unit 17, Ward 5, Osogbo shows the APC scooping 299 votes while the PDP polled 165 votes. The APC also won the rerun election in two out of the three units were it held in Orolu local govt area.
In Ward 8 unit 1, the ruling party polled a total of 111, PDP got 03 votes. In Ward 8 unit 4 APC 128 while the PDP got 55. But the PDP won in WARD 9 UNIT 3, polling 64 votes to APC’s 41.
