Kwara State Cycling Association commended the founder, Royal Media Group, Engr. Gbenga Adebayo for his efforts to revamp cycling in Kwara State.
Engr. Gbenga Adebayo, a fan of cycling, is a patron of the Kwara Schools Track Cycling Championship. The Championship took place on Saturday, February 26, at Queens school.
He was represented at the event by the Manager Royal FM 95.1 Mr. Adekunle Idowu.
Mr. Idowu praised the organizers of the tournament and pledged support to the Championship.
He also congratulated the pupils and students that participate and won a medal in the Championship.
The chairman, Kwara Cycling Association, Saliu Lawal, commended the pupils and students who have been identified as champions having excelled at the preliminaries held at various designated venues across Kwara Central, South, and North.
He also commended the founder, Royal Media Group, for the roles played towards the success of the Championship.
Furthermore, he revealed that his efforts in promoting the sport would help identify talents for the country.
The Championship tagged “Raising Formidable Talents ( cyclists ) for National and International Competitions” was organised by Dr. Khadijaht Toyin Musa, the founder of the Khadijat Toyin Musa (KTM) Foundation.
According to a report from Royal Media Group, about one hundred and sixty-four schools participated in the cycling Championship. The schools participated in primary, junior, and senior secondary school categories for males and females.
Mahmud Abdullahi won the first position, Wasiu Abdulrahaman second, and Halhasan Alhaji occupied the third position in the male primary category.
Meanwhile, Suleiman Taofik finished first, Adetoye Azeez second, while Yusuf Mohammed finished third in the male Junior Secondary School category.
Finally, Olagoke Benjamin finished first, Abdulrasak Kabir second, while Sekiwa Shaba finished third in the male Senior Secondary School category.
Adewole Ayisat finished first, James Janet second, while Abubakar Hawau came third in the female primary school category.
Also, Hammed Kafilat finished first, Balogun Mutiat second, and Sunday Bunmi finished third in the female junior secondary school category.
Lastly, Abubakar Sekinat finished first, Taiwo Ayotosimi second, and Akorede Taibat finished third in the female senior secondary school category.
