In continuation of her political aspiration, Honorable Abdullahi Mariam Ologede, former Special Assistant to Kwara State Governor on Loan and Debt Management, on Wednesday visited the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Senatorial and State secretariat to make known her intention to contest the Kwara State House of Assembly seat for Ilorin NorthWest state constituency.
Ologede, a strong member of the PDP, served under the immediate past Governor of the state, Abdufatah Ahmed.
Mariam Abdullahi stormed the PDP State secretariat at Tanke junction and the party Senatorial office at Stadium road alongside her Ward executives and supporters from Oloje Ward.
At both party secretariats, she informed State Executives and Senatorial Working Committee of the PDP in Ilorin North West of her aspiration.
Speaking at the event, the party woman leader reiterated her readiness to offer quality representation at the state assembly and use her office to seek responses to the needs of her people.
The former S.A again expressed displeasure over the absence of a single woman at the present state Assembly.
While noting that the development is a setback for the efforts to seek improvement in women affairs, she urged the people of Ilorin NorthWest to support her as a capable woman to change the narrative.
She sought for support of other wards in Ilorin West to make her ambition a reality, as according to her, only the people can make the dream a reality.
Party chieftains, women and youth groups all pledged their support to Ologede to ensure she clinches the party ticket and contest for the position in 2023.
The declaration comes after due consultation on her political ambition.
Alhaja Mariam Abdullahi Ologede had earlier last week commenced the official declaration and consultation when she visited the party secretariat in Ilorin West amid cheers from supporters.
