As part of efforts to create more opportunities for Kwara residents, the Harmony Holdings Company has concluded arrangement to commence the second phase of its Strategic economic growth Plan.
The second phase of its economic plan includes the upgrading of the Patigi Regatta and Nupe Durbar into a world class tourism point, while plans are on-going to resuscitate the abandoned Satellite Motel, Ilorin, the Kwara Paper Converter, Erin-Ile and the Kwara Cashew Processing Company Limited, Ogbondoroko.
According to a statement issued in Ilorin by the Head of Corporate Affairs of the Company, Kayode Aremu, the resuscitation of Kwara Paper Converter and Kwara Cashew Processing Company has the potential of creating over one thousand jobs.
The Holdings also said its direct intervention in the state economy has led to an impressive cumulative profit before tax of about six hundred Million in the first two years of operation between 2013-2014.
The company further explained that seventy five million naira was paid as dividend to the Kwara State Government in 2013 during the first operation year.
Speaking on harmony transport service, formally known as kwara express, harmony holding explained that the outstanding debts of Harmony Transport to banks totalling one hundred and seventy six million had been settled
