A permanent delegate of Nigeria to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO),Maryam Katagun will deliver the kwara state university convocation lecture tomorrow.
The Vice-Chancellor, KWASU, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, stated this during a pre-convocation media briefing in Malete. According to the Vice-Chancellor about twenty-three students of the Kwara State University, Malete, have bagged first-class degrees and will be awarded their degrees along with other graduates during the oncoming convocation of the university.
While decrying the inability of universities and other tertiary institutions in the country to solve Nigeria’s developmental challenges, Na’Allah added that if the tertiary institutions had been effective in their functions as research centers, they would have foreseen and proffered solutions to the insecurity and socio-economic problems of the country.
He however urged tertiary institutions to collaborate with government at all tiers to address the challenges of the country.
