The Kwara Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Thursday raided two illegal mining sites thereby arresting two miners in the process.
The State Commandant of the Corps Ideba Pedro, while briefing newsmen at Aperun near Ijagbo in Oyun local government area of the state, one of the sites of illegal mining, said the command will deal decisively with anyone indulging in the illegal act.
The Kwara Commandant described the illegal act as an economic sabotaged which must be stopped by all means equally called on the people of the state who might want to go into mining business to seek proper approval and obtain the license to operate.
One of the Miners Husseni Garba, who spoke with newsmen confirmed to be involved in the business. He said he was working on the order of one Alhaja Abu, who pay him five thousand naira per day.
