Worried by the incessant ritual killings in Ilorin and its environs, the Kwara State House of Assembly has urged the state government to establish anti-ritualist security outfit to serve as community policing in the state.
The House made the call in its resolution after adopting a motion titled curbing the menace of ritualists in Kwara moved by Suleiman Bazigi. The Deputy Speaker, Mathew Okedare who presided over the plenary while reading the resolution of the House called on security agencies in the state to be at alert in curbing the activities of suspected ritualists.
As reported by our correspondent, Olarotimi Oshin, the lawmakers tasked parents and guardians to be wary of the whereabouts of their wards and always monitor their activities. They also urged transport unions and commercial motorcycle riders in the state to issue special identification numbers for their members.
The House directed the state Ministry of Information and Communications to further intensify enlightenment campaign aimed at orientating the residents of the state on the need to be at alert at all times against the nefarious activities of the ritual killers
