The Kwara state House of assembly has sworn-in a new female Member, Mrs Victoria Afolayan who represents Oke-Ero constituency in Kwara south senatorial district.
Afolayan emerged victorious and received certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC) in the bye election conducted on the twenty-eighth of June, 2016 in Oke-Ero Constituency.
The Speaker of the House, Dr Ali Ahmad who performed the oath of office and allegiance on her said Mrs Afolayan had submitted duly certified asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau and satisfied other requirements.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to the People of Oke-Ero for electing Mrs Afolayan, just as he assured that the APC would not betray the confidence repose in it.
Our correspondent, Olarotimi Oshin, reports that the new member takes over the vacant seat of her late husband, Mr Musa-Moses Afolayan who died in January.
