The Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board says only seventy percent of the 2016 intending pilgrims from the state have paid the hajj fares in full.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Hajia Fatimoh Abolore- Jimoh who disclosed this in llorin while speaking with the newsmen during an enlightenment programme for intending pilgrims also said the remaining thirty percent of intending Pilgrims have paid more than fifty percent of the Hajj fare.
According to her, the board earlier fixed last Friday as deadline for payment of balance of hajj fares and later extended it due to the economic hardship in the country adding that intending pilgrims who are still unable to pay balance of Hajj fare were complaining of economic situation in the country. Abolore- Jimoh therefore advised the remaining intending Pilgrims to do so on time.
As reported by our correspondent olarotimi oshin , the Executive Secretary said medical screening for 2016 intending pilgrims will commence immediately after Ramadan.
