The Kwara State Government has disclosed that it received a total of three-point-six billion naira as federal allocation for the month of June and three-point-seven billion naira for the month of July.
According to a statement issued today by the State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Demola Banu, a breakdown of the June allocation figures shows that the State government got a statutory allocation of two-point-seven billion naira and Value Added Tax (VAT) of eight hundred and seventy-one million naira.
Banu revealed that the July allocation was made up of statutory allocation of two-point-eight billion naira, Value Added Tax of eight hundred million naira and exchange difference of forty-five million naira.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the sixteen local government councils in the State received a total of two-point-six billion naira as allocation for June. Banu added that the July allocation to the local councils also stood at two-point-six billion naira.
Banu clarified that the Federal Accounts Allocation Committee agreed at its meeting in Abuja on Friday to save one hundred billion naira against future drops in allocation or other revenue fluctuations.
